Dr Vijay Bhatkar is one of the most acclaimed scientists and IT leaders of India. He is best known as the architect of India's first supercomputer and as the founder Executive Director of C-DAC, India's national initiative in supercomputing. He is credited with the creation of several national institutions, notably amongst them being C-DAC, ER&DC, IIITM-K, I2IT, ETH Research Lab, MKCL and India International Multiversity. He has been a Member of Scientific Advisory Committee to Cabinet of Govt of India, Governing Council Member of CSIR, India and eGovernace Committee Chairman of Governments of Maharashtra and Goa. The third highest Civilian Award of Govt of India, PADMA BHUSHAN for Year 2015 had been conferred upon Dr. Vijay Bhatkar for his contributions in Science and Engineering. A Life Fellow of IEEE, Fellow of ACM, CSI, INAE and leading scientific, engineering and professional societies of India, he has been honored with Padmashri and Maharashtra Bhushan awards. Other recognitions include Saint Dnyaneshwar World Peace Prize, Lokmanya Tilak Award, HK Firodia and Dataquest Lifetime Achievement Awards, and many others. He was a nominee for Petersburg Prize and is a Distinguished Alumni of IIT, Delhi. Dr Bhatkar has authored and edited 12 books and 80 research & technical papers. His current research interests include Exascale Supercomputing, AI, Brain-Mind-Consciousness and Synthesis of Science & Spirituality. Mr. Stefan Hoppe Stefan Hoppe is the OPC Foundation Vice President since begin 2015 coordinating the OPC expansion into the Internet of Things & Industrie4.0. Stefan has been the President of the OPC Europe organization since 2010 being the catalyst for initiating liaisons with other industrial consortiums that has resulted in OPC working groups developing companion specifications for the organizations respective information models – e.g in 2008 he became chairman of the Common Working Group within PLCopen/OPC Foundation which resulted in released and adopted specifications in 2010.

Stefan Hoppe studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany. Since 1995 he has worked for BECKHOFF Automation, starting as a software developer in the TwinCAT Automation team. Later as a lead Product Manager his focus was on connectivity and embedded software products. As a renowned global expert on Windows operating systems used in industrial applications, Microsoft has named Hoppe an MVP (Most Valuable Professional) for Embedded Software every year since 2009. Dr. Virendrakumar Bhavsar

Virendrakumar C. Bhavsar is a professor, the founding Director of the Advanced Computational Laboratory and former Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick. He is a Fellow of the International Institute of Cognitive Informatics and Cognitive Computing, University of Calgary. He received the B.Eng. (Electronics and Telecommunications) from University of Poona, India, and the M.Tech. (Electrical Eng.) as well as Ph.D. (Electrical Eng.) degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He was a faculty member at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, 1974-83. Since 1983 he has been at the University of New Brunswick, Canada. He was a founding member, Board of Directors, C3.ca, Inc. – a high performance computing initiative in Canada. He is President of the SAI Super and Intelligent Computer Systems, Inc., Fredericton. He has been a consultant to industries in the areas of semantic web, semantic search and matchmaking, artificial intelligence and high performance computing. He has published more than 160 research papers in journals, conference proceedings, as well as book chapters, and has edited four volumes. He co-led the bioinformatics component of the Canadian Potato Genomics project. Recently, he led the Province of New Brunswick component of the Atlantic Computational Excellence Network (ACEnet) – a $30+ million high performance computing initiative in Atlantic Canada. Current areas of research include intelligent systems with applications in e-Business and e-Learning, semantic search and semantic matchmaking, and bioinformatics.

Sajith Parambil is Director Education Program – APAC, PTC. Having 17 years in the CAD/CAM/PLM and Engineering domain on Sales and Program Management responsibilities, he has exposure to Indian market as well as International markets comprising Europe USA, and Asia Pacific. Sajith has been with PTC for the past 10 years and holds an Engineering degree from REC Calicut and an MBA from University of Calicut. In his current role as Director Education Program with PTC, he is responsible for development and management of strategic initiatives in Academic Program, wherein he manages the business from Universities and Colleges in Asia Pacific. He also manages the PTC University training initiatives in the same region for student training as well as commercial customer trainings.

Ram D. Sriram

Ram D. Sriram

Ram D. Sriram is currently the chief of the Software and Systems Division, Information Technology Laboratory, at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, USA. Before joining the Software and Systems Division, Sriram was the leader of the Design and Process group in the Manufacturing Systems Integration Division, Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory, where he conducted research on standards for interoperability of computer-aided design systems. Prior to joining NIST, he was on the engineering faculty (1986-1994) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and was instrumental in setting up the Intelligent Engineering Systems Laboratory. Sriram has co-authored or authored more than 250 publications, including several books. Sriram was a founding co-editor of the International Journal for AI in Engineering. Sriram received several awards including: an NSF’s Presidential Young Investigator Award (1989); ASME Design Automation Award (2011); ASME CIE Distinguished Service Award (2014), and the Washington Academy of Sciences’ Distinguished Career in Engineering Sciences Award (2015). Sriram is a Fellow of ASME, AAAS and Washington Academy of Sciences, a member (life) of ACM, a Senior Member of the IEEE, and a member (life) of AAAI. Sriram has a B.Tech. from IIT, Madras, India, and an M.S. and a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA.

Anura Jayasumana

Anura Jayasumana is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Colorado State University, where he also holds a joint appointment in Computer Science. He is the Associate Director of Information Sciences & Technology Center, and a member of the Coalition for Development and Implementation of Sensor Systems (CDISS) at Colorado State. He is a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Communications Society. His research interests span high-speed networking to wireless sensor networking, and anomaly detection to DDoS defense. He has served extensively as a consultant to industry ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies Prof. Jayasumana has supervised 20+ Ph.D. and 50+ M.S. students, holds two patents, and is the co-author of over 250 papers. He received the B.Sc. degree with First Class Hons. from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Michigan State University.

Dr. Pradeep K. Sinha has recently joined as Vice Chancellor and Director, IIIT Naya Raipur, India. Earlier, he was the Senior Director (Corporate Strategy and R&D) at the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). At C-DAC, he has led National Programs in areas of High Performance Computing, Grid Computing, and Health Informatics. Before joining C-DAC in 1996, Dr. Sinha was with Multimedia Systems Research Laboratory of Panasonic in Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Sinha is a researcher, scientist, inventor, and internationally acclaimed author of computer textbooks, with more than twenty-five years of professional experience. He has significantly contributed to the advancement of Science & Technology and Technical Education. His technical contributions include national projects, HPC systems and facilities, healthcare products and solutions, international patents, a number of technical papers and six books. Books authored by him are published and marketed by several national and international publishers. Indian, American, and other Universities across the globe cite his books as textbooks for their courses. On public demand, books authored by him have been translated in local languages like Japanese and Hindi. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), USA conferred the recognition of IEEE Fellow upon Dr. Sinha for Leadership in Distributed and Parallel Processing Systems. He had earlier received the recognition of “ACM Distinguished Engineer” from the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), USA for significant accomplishments in, and impact on, the computing field. Pitke Madhukar Vishwanath has contributed to the development of computer electronics and telecommunications technology for over 40 years, most of it at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. He pioneered development of systems for tactical military networks. As founder director of the Center for Development of Telematics – CdoT, he guided the development of switching technology for the Indian telecommunications network. His keen interest in computer design led him to build a large parallel processor for weather research based with a unique Single Algorithm Multiple Data - SAMD architecture.
He has been keenly interested in education and training and has guided many Masters and Doctoral candidates. Was cofounder of AXES Technologies (now a part of Tech Mahindra) a company with over 700 engineers engaged in telecom software and system development. He has been a speaker at numerous events organized by IEEE, ITU and other leading organizations. Has numerous publications and presentations in several leading professional journals and technical conferences. He worked in visiting capacity in many academic institutions including the University of Pisa, the Max Planck Institute in Munich, the University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Carnegie Mellon University at Pittsburgh. He was an Adjunct Professor at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bangalore.
He holds the Masters and PhD degrees of Mumbai University and is a Life Fellow of the IEEE, the Indian Academy of Sciences and the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers. His current activities include development of low cost wireless ICT solutions and assisting young entrepreneurs. He is keenly interested in the improvement and upgrading of engineering education and research.

Jayavardhana Gubbi received the Bachelor of Engineering degree from Bangalore University, Bengaluru, India, in 2000, the Ph.D. degree from the University of Melbourne, Australia, in 2007. For three years, he was a Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, where he was engaged in speech technology for Indian languages. Between 2007 and 2015, he worked as Postdoctoral Research Fellow, an Australian Postdoctoral Fellow - Industry (APDI) and Senior Research Fellow working on several industry linkage grants in biomedical signal processing, video processing and Internet of Things. He has co-authored more than 65 peer reviewed papers and has received AUD 500,000 worth of competitive grants. He is currently a research scientist in TCS Innovation Labs - Bengaluru and Honorary Fellow in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the University of Melbourne, Australia. His current interests include Spatio-temporal Analysis, Deep Learning and Cognitive architectures. The application domains span Internet of Things, Computer Vision and Biomedical Engineering. He is a senior member of the IEEE and a member of ACM.

PROF G. S. Mani had his engineering studies from MIT, Chennai and later from IIT, Delhi. He joined Defence R&D Organisation in 1963 and worked on various projects related to Radar, Microwaves, Antennas and Electronic Warfare. He was also associated with Postgraduate degree programs on Advanced Naval Weapons, Tank Technology, Guided Missiles, Modelling & Simulation and other Defence-related technologies. He has been a Professor Emeritus for 6 years, Principal of an Engineering college for 2 years and also Adviser to a leading Professional Institution for 1 year. He has been Examiner /Guide / Selection Panelist for PhD in many universities.

Prof Mani received Award from President of India for Import Substitution( 1973), Prof. K. Sreenivasan Award of IETE for ‘Distinguished contributions in the field of teaching Electronics and Telecommunications’(1998), Excellence in Education/R&D Trophy presented by Governor of Maharashtra to IAT ( 1999), Appreciation Award from DEMA (2000). He was also felicitated by Prof. MGK Menon for Contributions to IAT. He is one of the first persons to file and obtain Indian Patents within DRDO in 1972. Dr. Narendra S. Chaudhari is currently Director of Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur (M.S.), and also with Indian Institute of Technology, Indore since Aug 2009 as a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering. Since January 2016, he has also been Mentor Director of newly established Indian Instittue of Information Technology (IIIT), Nagpur. Since Sept 2010 to June 2013, he was Dean - Research and Development (Dean - R&D), IIT Indore. Since 2001 to July 2009, he was with the School of Computer Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. From 1990 to 2001, he was Professor of Computer Science Science in M.Sc. DRDO Program, Ministry of Defense (Govt. of India) at Devi Ahilya University, Indore and from 1988 to 1990, he was a Reader in M.Sc. DRDO Program, Ministry of Defense (Govt. of India) at Devi Ahilya University, Indore. Before 1988, he was with Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT, Mumbai, as a Senior Software Engineer.

His significant research work contributions are in the areas of network security and mobile computing, game AI, novel neural network models like binary neural nets and bidirectional nets, context free grammar parsing, optimization,parallel algorithms and graph isomorphism problem. Some of his important contributions are: (i) Authentication Protocols and Security Mechanisms for Cellular Networks, (ii) generalization of notion of alignment in bioinformatics sequences to fuzzy similarity and its usage for identification of Context Free structure in languages, (iii) rerouting strategies in Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks, (iv) applications of soft-computing techniques like genetic algorithms for cutting stock problems, and for credit risk estimation. He has delivered invited talks and presented his research results in several countries like America, Australia, Canada, Germany, Hungary, Japan, United Kingdom, etc.
